Linus Van Pelt and Sally Brown
According to the comic strip, Charlie Brown’s sister, Sally was born on May 26, 1959 where Charlie marked the occasion by passing out chocolate cigars to his friends. She grew up quickly. She took her first steps on August 22, 1960 and she fell in love with Linus, Lucy’s brother, on the next day. It was love at first sight, at least on her part. Sally has often referred to Linus as her “Sweet Baboo.” Her dedication to her man seems endless. Carmen Miranda is Born
While you may not know Carmen Miranda by name, you’ve no doubt seen photos or at least tributes to the Brazilian singer and dancer known for wearing very tall hats stuffed with fruit. Carmen was born on this day in 1909. Before her performing career, she sold ties at age 14. She recorded here first single, “Samba Não vá Simbora” in 1929 and appeared on film for the first time in 1932. Her first appearance in an American film was in Down Argentine Way (1940), but her native country became skeptical of her claiming that she gave into American commercialism. She appeared in numerous films including That Night in Rio with Don Ameche (1941), Copacabana with Groucho Marx (1947) and Scared Stiff with Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin (1953). Many assume that Carmen appeared in Disney’s The Three Caballeros dancing with Donald Duck, but that was her sister Aurora. It was also Carmen's image that inspired the Chiquita Banana logo in 1943.

'The Bradys' Airs for Six Weeks
The original Brady Bunch series aired from 1969-1974 on ABC, but television tried again and again to revise the concept with the same cast. In 1976, NBC turned the television family into hosts of a variety show called The Brady Bunch Hour similar in tone to the Donnie and Marie Show with skits, musical numbers and synchronized swimming! In 1981, the sitcom The Brady Brides came and went on NBC and on this day in 1990, The Bradys debuted on CBS after the successful reunion movie, A Very Brady Christmas. Instead of a half hour sitcom, the show was an hour long dramedy but still had a laugh track. The role of Marcia was played by Leah Ayres. The show aired only six episodes due to low ratings.
