Shyamalan's 'Glass' is Engaging Almost Until the End

I don’t think anyone will deny that M. Night Shyamalan is a great storyteller. He initially proved that with the release of The Sixth Sense. The symbolism of the color red, the odd scenes that made very little sense until the end of the movie and of course, the amazing twist that nobody saw coming. That incredible twist has almost been the director’s undoing. Since 1999, not one of his other movie’s endings have had the same impact, but he continues to try.

In 2000, Mr. Shyamalan hoped that lightening would strike twice with Unbreakable which also starred Bruce Willis. Like The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable was a mystery only this time, the story featured the lone survivor of a train crash who left the accident without a scratch on him and an incredibly fragile, wheelchair-bound, comic book enthusiast which appeared to be the polar opposite. Mickey Mouse Turns 90 and Will Celebrate Big Time

Today, ABC announced that the network has planned a two-hour special celebrating Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday. The big event will be filmed at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA and the elegant affair will feature star-studded musical performances, moving tributes and never-before-seen short films. Superstars from music, film and television will join the festivities to celebrate Mickey’s 90th Spectacular on Sunday, November 4, 2018.

Since his big-screen debut in Steamboat Willie on Nov. 18, 1928, Mr. Mouse has been the global ambassador for The Walt Disney Company. From the beloved Mickey Mouse Club to today’s Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts, Mickey’s optimistic outlook and endearing personality continue to delight fans around the world every day.

One of the most acclaimed producers and directors of television and live events, Don Mischer has signed on to produce and direct the special prime-time event. “I’m delighted to be working on this magical event. Walt Disney was a major influence in my early life and actually inspired me to pursue my life’s work in television,” said Mischer.

The 15-time Emmy® Award winner and his Don Mischer Productions partners, Charlie Haykel and Juliane Hare, combine their extraordinary talents to help bring this once-in-a-lifetime celebration to life. “It’s remarkable how strongly Mickey Mouse connects with people around the world, and it’s an honor for us to help celebrate such a beloved global icon,” said Haykel and Hare.
