When Linus Met Sally and Other Famous Fictional Couples

You have to be pretty hard-hearted to not get a least a little lump in your thought when you think of some of fictional couples. But have you ever stopped to think just how these crazy lovebirds ever got together? The answers may surprise you.

According to the comic strip, Charlie Brown’s sister, Sally was born on May 26, 1959 where Charlie marked the occasion by passing out chocolate cigars to his friends. She grew up quickly. She took her first steps on August 22, 1960 and she fell in love with Linus, Lucy’s brother, on the next day. It was love at first sight, at least on her part. Sally has often referred to Linus as her “Sweet Baboo.” Her dedication to her man seems endless. She has missed out on “tricks and treats” by sitting in a pumpkin patch waiting for the Great Pumpkin and she was incensed that Linus would snub her a Valentine’s gift in favor for his teacher, Miss Othmar.   • Snowboarding: Snowboarding men’s slopestyle gets underway with qualifying 
  • Short Track: Short Track, hugely popular in the host nation, begins with the men’s 1500m, plus qualifying in the women’s 500m and 3000m relay. Ghana-born and Virginia-raised Maame Biney, 18, leads Team USA in the women’s 500m. 
  • Ski Jumping: The first Ski Jumping medals will be awarded in the men’s individual normal hill final. 
  • Luge: Luge competition starts with the first two runs (of four) in men’s singles. 
  • Figure Skating: Team competition continues in figure skating with the short dance and the ladies’ short program. 
  • Alpine Skiing: In alpine, the “Attacking Vikings” of Norway – led by three-time Olympic medalist Aksel Lund Svindal – are among those seeking to prevent Austria’s Matthias Mayer from becoming the first repeat Olympic champion in the men’s downhill. 
  • 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. – Snowboarding: Men's Slopestyle Competition, Short Track: Men’s 1500m (Final), Women’s 500m (Qualifying), Women’s 3000m Relay (Qualifying), Ski Jumping: Men's Individual Normal Hill Gold Medal Final, Luge: Men’s Runs 1 & 2
