Julia Scarlet Elizabeth Louis-Dreyfus was born on this day in 1961. The actress’ first appearance on TV was as a performer on Saturday Night Live in 1982. She is best known for playing Elaine on Seinfeld for nine seasons. She has been married to Brad Hall since 1987 and her half-sister, actress Lauren Bowles, has appeared with Louis-Dreyfus numerous times on Seinfeld, Watching Ellie, The New Adventures of Old Christine and her current award-winning show, Veep.
Frank Peretti is Born
This day in 1951, the Peretti family took home their little bundle of joy to their home in Canada. A short while later, the family moved to Seattle, Washington where Frank was known for telling stories to the neighborhood kids. He studied English, screenwriting and film at UCLA before assisting his father with an Assembly of God Church. He left the ministry in 1983 for construction work. In 1985 while working at a ski factory, Peretti wrote his first adventure story for children, “The Door in the Dragon’s Throat.” The next year he published “This Present Darkness” making him a Christian household name and some critics dubbed him a "sanctified Stephen King." Some of his works have been turned into movies with mild success. His most recent novel, “Illusion” was published in 2012.
