In publicity stunt for the new ABC show, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, star Jason Ritter achieved the Guinness World Record title for most hugs given in one minute by an individual while on set of The View. Ritter, donning his headband and supported by The View co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Meghan McCain, achieved a new record of 86 hugs given by an individual in a minute, besting the previous record of 79 hugs set in March 2016.
ABC says they are not done hugging just yet and have declared that Tuesday, October 10 to be National Hug-a-Kevin Day. “On this occasion, people are encouraged to hug a ‘Kevin’ in their lives,” says the network. “If you are unable to physically hug your Kevin, please visit facebook.com/KevinProbably/ to share the love with our ‘Kevin.’ Please hug responsibly.”
