When Linus Met Sally and Other Famous Fictional Couples

VALENTINE'S DAY
You have to be pretty hard-hearted to not get a least a little lump in your thought when you think of some of fictional couples. But have you ever stopped to think just how these crazy lovebirds ever got together? The answers may surprise you.

Linus Van Pelt and Sally Brown
According to the comic strip, Charlie Brown’s sister, Sally was born on May 26, 1959 where Charlie marked the occasion by passing out chocolate cigars to his friends. She grew up quickly. She took her first steps on August 22, 1960 and she fell in love with Linus, Lucy’s brother, on the next day. It was love at first sight, at least on her part. Sally has often referred to Linus as her “Sweet Baboo.” Her dedication to her man seems endless. She has missed out on “tricks and treats” by sitting in a pumpkin patch waiting for the Great Pumpkin and she was incensed that Linus would snub her a Valentine’s gift in favor for his teacher, Miss Othmar. The Ape Caesar Takes Over Caesars Palace in Las Vegas

The Ape Caesar Takes Over Caesars Palace in Las Vegas

MOVIES

The most recent adaptations of the Planet of the Apes movies have done well on their own merit, but Studio One has begun to promote War for the Planet of the Apes in a big way. In anticipation of the new trailer coming out tomorrow, a special image created by Shepard Fairey took over Caesars Palace during CinemaCon 2017.

In collaboration with Studio One, contemporary street artist Shepard Fairey created a stunning image which was being projected by twelve 35,000 lumen projectors with true 4k images all digitally mapped together to create one large image on the hotel. The final image was over 495’ wide and 261’ tall and required over a football field of cabling running from roof to roof at Caesars Palace Las Vegas.

Shepard Fairey stated, “After reading Matt Reeves’s script, I was excited to work on art for War for the Planet of the Apes because the story presents a visceral but sophisticated dichotomy of dual perspectives on the struggle for survival. Unlike most films in which the audience immediately identifies with their fellow humans and the threat is from the “other,” this films asks questions about compassion, empathy, and other traits that we usually only associate with humans.”

War for the Planet of the Apes is the third chapter of the series where Caesar and his ape friends are left with no alternative that to face a deadly conflict with an army of humans. “As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet,” says today’s press release.

War for the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Amiah Miller, Karin Konoval, Judy Greer and Terry Notary. It will arrive in theaters on July 14, 2017.
