‘This is Us’ Chrissy Metz Stars in Upcoming Faith-Based Film

MOVIES
Miracles still happen. That is the message of the faith-based film, Breakthrough starring This is Us’ Chrissy Metz. Based on Joyce Smith’s book, The Impossible: The Miraculous Story of a Mother's Faith and Her Child's Resurrection, Breakthrough tells the true story of an event that happened just four years ago.

Metz plays Smith whose 14-year-old son falls through the ice of a Missouri lake. He was trapped under water for 15 minutes and even after he was rescued, he had no pulse for 43 minutes. All seemed lost and Smith was told to come in and say her goodbyes to her son as there was no hope for the boy. But Smith refused to give up and continued to pray for her son’s complete recovery, even in the face of every case history and scientific prediction. Not only did her son come back to life, but he is alive today telling his story.

Directed by Roxann Dawson and produced by DeVon Franklin (Miracles from Heaven), Breakthrough also stars Josh Lucas, Topher Grace, Mike Colter…

Don’t expect him to don the cowl and cape anytime soon, but the “original” Batman, Adam West, recently got behind the wheel of the 1960’s Batmobile in a new episode of Jay Leno’s Garage for CNBC. In the new episode titled “Crime Fighters,” Leno and West take the original Batmobile through a fast food restaurant drive through to get burgers for what Leno calls the “best day ever.” Also in the episode, Leno drives around the Ghostbusters car with Dan Aykroyd.

Batfans will also be glad to hear that rumors of a reuniting of Adam West and Burt Ward, who played the dynamic duo on the Batman TV series from 1966 to 1969, are still buzzing. Last year, West and Ward teased a crowd of fans that the two would be voicing a new 90-minute animated project to be released sometime this year as part of the Batman TV show’s 50th anniversary, but news of the project has been sparse. However, Cinemablend reports that last month at the Megacon Event in Orlando, Florida, Adam teased more rumors saying, “Well, I have a gag order...However... No no, me and Burt have been working on a new project that's just gonna knock your socks off, and believe me, it's our Batman and Robin!”
