Website of the Week: Top Secret Recipes

You may have seen his books (they have been around since 1993), but did you know that Todd Wilbur, master of Top Secret Recipes, has his own website? (It has been around for quite awhile as well). For those of you who don't know who Todd is, he is guy, according to his website, had too much time on his hands and decided to create a clone recipe for a Mrs. Fields cookie. He got suckered into paying for the "real" recipe years ago from a spam email and after trying out the recipe, he knew he had been had. After much experimenting, he came up with his own version of a “top secret recipe” for the cookies. Then, reproducing the food that he loves has been an obsession with him. Since that first cookie recipe, he has written 10 cookbooks filled with favorite foods from famous vendors.

Ever wondered how to make Hostess Twinkies at home? How about a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup? Are you a fan of Wendy's Chili and wish you could make it at home? (My family makes it at least once a month) And, how about low-fat versions of food restaurant food items like Applebees' Fabulous Brownie Sundae? Yep, he has that too.

Make Twinkies at home with Todd Wilbur's original recipe!

On the Top Secret Recipes website, you find his entire list of recipes, his books and his special line spices. For the most part, if you find a recipe you like, you will need to purchase it online, although, he does feature at least one free recipe each week (this week's is the clone of Cheesecake Factory's Banana Cream Cheesecake) and you can sign up for his newsletter to have these sent to your email inbox.
