'Jurassic Park' Gets the 3D Treatment...and it Works!

It’s hard to believe that it has been 20 years since we were introduced to the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park. Now this three time Academy Award-winning film is back in theaters looking better than ever. Even with the most modern CGI effects, this film has really aged well and looks great in 3D. Those who have only seen the original on their TV sets at home are in for a new experience and those who saw it in theaters will enjoy the new effects. This film was made for 3D – we just didn’t know back in 1993

The Steven Spielberg classic is based on the novel by the late Michael Crichton where a paleontologists, Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and a paleobotanist, Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), are invited to remote island along with Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), a mathematician and Donald Gennaro (Martin Ferrero), a lawyer. Their host is John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), a rich, eccentric man with a plan to create a new theme park with live dinosaurs. Hammond also invites his grandchildren (Joseph Mazzello and Ariana Richards) on the pre-opening tour. Everything is magical and fascinating in the beginning, but a power outage happens and all hell breaks loose. That’s pretty much the plot of the whole movie, but it is plenty to go on. The exciting film shows our heroes facing
danger at every turn and will have you jumping out of your seat – even if you have seen it before.

Jurassic Park has a lot of close-ups that will pull you into the film before you know it. After a brief exciting scene at the beginning, you are lulled into a false sense of security. Soon, your heart will be pounding. The visuals are beautiful, the effects
realistic and the acting is so real, you’d never know that they were filming in front of a green screen.

Jurassic Park is a one big morality lesson in that no matter how big you think you are or how big science is, neither is bigger than God. Man has never and never will be a suitable substitute.
