When Linus Met Sally and Other Famous Fictional Couples

You have to be pretty hard-hearted to not get a least a little lump in your thought when you think of some of fictional couples. But have you ever stopped to think just how these crazy lovebirds ever got together? The answers may surprise you.

Linus Van Pelt and Sally Brown
According to the comic strip, Charlie Brown’s sister, Sally was born on May 26, 1959 where Charlie marked the occasion by passing out chocolate cigars to his friends. She grew up quickly. She took her first steps on August 22, 1960 and she fell in love with Linus, Lucy’s brother, on the next day. It was love at first sight, at least on her part. Sally has often referred to Linus as her “Sweet Baboo.” Her dedication to her man seems endless. She has missed out on “tricks and treats” by sitting in a pumpkin patch waiting for the Great Pumpkin and she was incensed that Linus would snub her a Valentine’s gift in favor for his teacher, Miss Othmar. Today marks the beginning of a spring/summer promotion with Lionsgate and Roadside
James Denton
Attractions previewing the movie to various Christian leaders and youth pastors in hopes of using it as a an outreach tool. In addition, today’s press release announced that both Capitol Christian Music Group and Lifeway Christian Resources have teamed up to promote the film.

“We love Grace Unplugged, an entertaining story of a talented teenager rising in the music industry that gets a chance to achieve her dreams but realizes in the process the importance of family and her faith. While the story is specific to the world of music, the themes are universal to every family in this inspiring movie,” said Lionsgate President of Acquisitions and
Co-Productions Jason Constantine.
“We are thrilled to be releasing Grace Unplugged, a terrific, emotional story of a
contemporary father and daughter who must each reconcile their faith with their love of music and performing,” said Roadside Attractions’ Co-President Howard Cohen.

Bill Hearn, CEO of Capitol Christian Music Group added, “We’re thrilled to be the music and soundtrack partner with Lionsgate which allows us to offer powerful songs to enhance this incredible story of reconciliation.”

Perhaps the most interesting feature about this feature is the odd variety of acting talent thrown in the mix. Michalka has acted in many TV shows and is known as half of the teen music duo, Aly & AJ, more
Shawnee Smith
recently known as 78Violet. She plays Grace Rose Trey, a Christian singer/songwriter wanting to break into the larger music industry. James Denton (from Desperate Housewives) plays her father, a former rock star and current worship leader. (Yes, he really sings). The film also stars Shawnee Smith (from the “Saw” movies and a regular role of the sitcom, Becker years ago) and Michael Welch from the Twilight movies. Add in Jamie-Grace and Chris Tomlin to this modern day prodigal daughter story and you have one intriguing cast.
