Affirm Films and Sony Pictures Animation has announced that they will release the animated faith-based film, The Star, to theaters on November 10, 2017. Before you write this one off, Sony Animation is known for its success with Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Affirm Films and Sony Pictures have had a good response from faith-based films like Heaven is for Real and Miracles from Heaven, so this could be a hit in the making. It features an all-star cast and has some pretty big names attached to it as well including Lisa Henson and Brian Henson (Jim Henson’s daughter and son who each have a list of credits of their own) and DeVon Franklin (producer of Miracles of Heaven).

"The Star is the perfect family movie! It gives an 'animals'–eye view' of the first Christmas in a way that is funny, engaging and inspiring," says actress Patricia Heaton who voices Edith the Cow in the movie. "Moms, dads, grandparents and kids will be swept up in the adventure of a new look at a timeless story."

The Star also features the voice talents of Steven Yeun, Kelly Clarkson, Aidy Bryant, Keegan–Michael Key, Kristin Chenoweth, Delilah Rene, Anthony Anderson, Ving Rhames, Gina Rodriguez, Zachary Levi, Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Tracy Morgan and Christopher Plummer.
