This Day in Pop Culture for May 4

Star Wars Day is held on May 4.

May the Fourth Be With You

Sci-fi fans are well aware that May 4 is considered a non-official holiday for Star Wars. Star Wars Day is always held on May the 4th (which sounds a lot like the phrase, “May the force…”) and its first sanctioned event took place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the Toronto Underground Cinema. Original events included trivia contests, costume contests, tribute films and more. Disney Parks jumped on the bandwagon in 2013. The parks that feature the attraction, Star Tours, hold special events throughout the day and/or weekend.
