Jay Leno was Born
It was on this day in 1950 that a little baby with a big
chin was born. Standup comedian and sometimes actor, Leno is best known for his
role as host of NBC’s The Tonight Show. His first appearance on the show was
back in 1977 for a comedy routine and came back frequently over the years. He
took over the show’s reigns from Johnny Carson in 1992 and continued until
2009, when he starred in essentially the same show from 10:00-1:00 p.m. titled,
The Jay Leno Show. Conan O’Brien had taken over the Tonight Show but was ousted
just months later so that Leno could return and continue to host until February
of 2014. Leno was also inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 2014 too.
