In recognition of her significant contributions to Nashville and its musical heritage, six-time Grammy® Award winner Amy Grant was inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame yesterday, April 27, 2017. Joining Grant were longtime friend and CAA agent John Huie, and Bart Millard from the band MercyMe, who (according to today’s press release) gave an incredibly moving and heartfelt introduction to Grant.

Yesterday also marked the anniversary of when Grant's "Baby Baby" became a #1 hit song back in 1991.Written by Grant and Keith Thomas, it was the first single released from her album, Heart in Motion. Grant became the first Christian pop singer to have a number one single in the U.S.

Grant has been writing music and singing for over 30 year. During that time, she has sold three multi-platinum albums, six platinum albums and four gold albums. She has achieved six No. 1 hits, 10 Top 40 pop singles, 17 Top 40 Adult Contemporary tracks and multiple Contemporary Christian chart-toppers. In addition to her six Grammy® Awards, Grant has earned 26 Dove Awards and has been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in addition to this new honor. Despite all of her success, she remains humble as anyone who has ever met her can tell you.

  1. At the acceptance function, she said Nashville hit the "motherload of inventiveness." And that the city was particularly fortunate to have a benefactor like Ingram, who assembled others to encourage expressions of the human experience.
