In 1980 Robert Altman directed Robin Williams in the live action version of Popeye. Currently, Sony Animation is developing a new animated cartoon of the sailor man.

Betty White was born on January 17, 1922.

Betty White Was Born

Amazingly, comedian/actress Betty White is celebrating her 94th birthday today. The icon is currently working harder then she had many years earlier. White launched her first show, Life with Elizabeth, in 1950 which she wrote and produced, making her one of the first women to produce in Hollywood. In the 60’s, she regularly appeared on gameshows including Password where she met her third husband Allen Ludden. Her main claim to fame of course comes from years on the Mary Tyler Moore Show in the 70’s, The Golden Girls in the ‘80s, Hot in Cleveland and Betty White’s Off Their Rockers hidden camera show which are currently running on TV Land and NBC.
