For those who grew up with Disney's DuckTales, a syndicated afterschool cartoon carried on many local TV stations in the 1980's, you'll enjoy knowing that your own kids will be able to enjoy the same fun in a new, re-imagined show to be carried on Disney XD sometime in 2017.

This news comes from the official Disney fan site D23.com, but without a lot of info. "We don’t know too much about the new show just yet—but we do have the very first image of the characters," says the site. "The new series will once again star ├╝ber-popular characters Scrooge McDuck, his grandnephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and (of course!) Donald Duck." It also says to "mark your calendars" but no premiere date was given for the brief write up.

At least we were given a great photo to look at. It appears that the animators maybe wanting to give the show a comic book look as Donald is seen wearing a black sailor suit instead of navy blue. This was common in many of the Donald Duck comics. Other than that, we'll just have to wait and see what the mouse house churns out. (Keep your fingers crossed that it will be something great.)

In case you forgot what the characters looked like in the original series, here's a still from one of their adventures.
