Right after Disney announced the big new plans for a Star Wars Land to be built at both Disneyland and Disney's Hollywood Studios at the D23 convention comes news of another new “land” being built shortly.

Fans of the Toy Story films will be glad to learn that they will be able to experience Andy's toys up close and personal with their own land to be built inside Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort. Here, guests will be “shrunk” to the size of a toy and interact with Andy's toys in his backyard.

As reported in the Disney Parks Blog, Imagineer Kathy Mangum says that the land was somewhat inspired by the great responses to Cars Land at Disney California Adventure park at the Disneyland Resort. “As all of you know, here in Anaheim, we’ve been quite successful with taking immersive experiences to a whole new level as we did with Cars Land. In fact, one of our favorite stories from opening day is that we overheard a little boy asking his mom, ‘Is this where they filmed the Cars movie?'” Kathy said. “That’s exactly how we want people to feel – like they’ve stepped onto the set of their favorite film … like the quaint town of Radiator Springs or, in the case of ‘Toy Story,’ the wild and adventurous outdoors of Andy’s backyard.”

The Slinky Dog roller coaster is one of the new attractions planned for Toy Story Land.
The new land will feature the expansion of the already popular Toy Story Mania! which will take guest under Andy's bed! Also, the new land will feature a rather tame Slinky Dog-themed roller coaster and the little green aliens saucers ride that will feature the scary claw!

No addition information was given on the blog regarding the timeline of the new land, but it should be worth waiting for.
