soundtrack from ‘Grace Uplugged’ just released

As far as soundtracks go, this one looks like it will pack a punch with songs by TobyMac, Chris Tomlin, Josh Wilson, Jamie Grace and the star of the show, AJ Michalka.

Many will remember Michalka as the counterpart of Aly Michalka who went by the name of Aly & AJ for many years before re-branding themselves as 78violet. She also has some acting chops. She has had roles in “Secretariat,” “Super 8” and “The Lovely Bones.”
“Grace Unplugged” is about Grace Trey (Michalka) who aspires to do more than just sing at her church, where the worship leader is her father—a former pop star (“Desperate Housewives” James Denton). So, with the help of Mossy (Kevin Pollack), her dad's former manager, Grace records a cover version of her dad's old Top-10 hit, runs off to Los Angeles, and begins to taste the kind of stardom she's always dreamed about.

In addition to the soundtrack release, you can get a free download of Luminate’s song, “Welcome to to Daylight” which is featured in the movie here. Below is a video of AJ singing, “All I’ve Ever Needed.”

Just like many of you, it was time for some fall cleaning at Writer of Pop and we collected a dozen CDs to give away in the process. It's a great way to score some new music. These CDs have only been played a few times by myself and were given to me for review purposes, so if you are okay with the fact that they are not wrapped in cellophane, then please, enter today.
