Newsboys Keep Delivering

FROM EXAMINER.COM

Despite that fact that their name should probably be changed to the Newsmen by now, the Newsboys don’t really show any sign of aging. It was just announced last month that the group will be on yet another tour, with some calling it the “God is STILL Not Dead Tour.” This is on the heels of the news that the band will release their next album, “Restart,” on September 10th of this year.

The Newsboys promise to “take the music further than ever before” in a recent press release. Not sure what that mean, but it sounds exciting. Believer it or not the four-time GRAMMY®-nominated band has 16 records under its belt, three of them with Michael Tait in the lead. It’s been four years since he joined the band giving the group a sound that is more inline with DC Talk. Even so, the ‘boys manage to keep their “old” sound in some of their music and still put out one of the best concerts around.
With “Restart,” the Newsboys are challenging themselves to “recast themselves with the pop-spirited new album.” Things already look promising with the first single, “Live With Abandon” as it reached No. 20 on the National Christian Audience chart two weeks ago and has also broken into the Top 10 at Christian Hot AC at No. 6.

"At the start of this record two years ago, we knew we'd be taking great risks, but people will be excited about this album because we've pushed the music and taken it further than we've ever taken it before,” says Tait. “I have not felt this way about anything I’ve been involved in musically since Jesus Freak.” (Kids, you might need to ask your parents about this one.)
