“First Class Movie Fans” of Moviefone received a surprise today in the in-box. For one day only, the fans were invited to a special preview of the new Disney Toon Studios’ “Planes.” The film is a spin-off of the company’s “Cars” franchise. The 3D comedy deals with Dusty, a plane that is afraid of heights! Hopefully, with the help of Skipper and a bunch of new friends, he can make his dreams come true.

“Planes” is chock full of big-name voice casting including Dane Cook (as Dusty Crophopper) and Stacy Keach (as Skipper). Other voices include: Val Kilmer, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Teri Hatcher, Brad Garrett, John Cleese, Anthony Edwards, Sinbad, and Cedric the Entertainer.
What may be most interesting thing about this trailer is the absence of the Pixar logo since both former “Cars” movies were branded Disney/Pixar. “Planes” arrives in theaters on August 9.
