Disney's D23 Comes to Seattle

If you are real Disney fan, not just a casual take-it-or-leave-it fan, but a REAL Disney fan, you are well aware of D23. And you know that it is the official Disney fan club of ALL things Disney. However, the Mouse has just announced something that you may not know about. D23 is coming to Seattle!

Now, this isn’t the big full-blown event that happens in Disneyland each year, but it is certainly worth going to. D23’ Disney Fanniversary Celebration will be making stops around the country including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Newark, Orlando, Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco and Washington D.C. But for Washingtonians, the most important one will be the stop in Seattle on Friday, April 5 in the Microsoft Auditorium at the Seattle Public Library.

According to the D23 website, “Each show will be hosted by a Disney archivist and D23 Team member and will highlight the rich behind-the-scenes stories of these magical moments through rarely or never-before-seen film footage, concept art, photography, and exclusive interviews with many of your favorite Disney Legends and luminaries.”

The latest cover of D23's official magazine
features "Oz the Great and Powerful."
This is truly for hardcore fans of all ages. While it is not completely clear just how the event will be presented, it is clear that night will be full of history about favorite movies, characters, theme park attractions, the Disney Channel, the Disney Cruise Line. The show will feature an official Disney archivist sharing behind-the-scenes stories, displays of Walt Disney Archives and more. Finally, when all is said and done, guests will have the opportunity (albeit briefly) to “mix and mingle” with the presenters.

If you are an official D23 member, you can get in for $21. The general public can get in for $35, but you’ll need to order your tickets right away as they are planning to sell out.

The Seattle Public Library is located at 1000 Fourth Ave. in Seattle and the show begins at 7:00 p.m. It is strongly encouraged that you do not show up before 6:30 p.m. To register for the event, click here.
