Possibly the Best and Perhaps the Worst of 2012

You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have...2012. For some, it was the best year ever. For others, it was the worst. Everyone has an opinion and here's mine (plus a few facts).

Perhaps the Best Movie:
"Les Misérables"
"While panned by some critics, many others are praising the new adaptation and with good reason. Actually, for many reasons."
Top Grossing Movie:
"The Avengers"

$623,357,910 4 in 349 theaters

Best Faith-Based Movie:
"October Baby"
“October Baby” is about a 19-year-old woman who not only discovers that she has been adopted, but that she is also a survivor of a botched abortion...."(Review)

Most Under-Appreciated Faith-Based Movie:
"Blue Like Jazz"
"...if you plan to see “Blue Like Jazz," you too may be put off by some of the language that is featured in it. That and the overuse of alcohol and talk of sex. Keep in mind though that this story is based on real events and to sanitize them could make the story look and feel “off.” Director Steve Taylor stressed in the weeks prior to the film’s release that it was a “faith-based film” but that doesn’t necessarily make it “family-friendly” like so many other faith-based films out there."

Perhaps the Worst Movie:
The Big Balloon Adventure"

Perhaps the Best Animated Film of the Year:
"Brave"
"Pixar is back on top where they belong with “Brave,” the tale of Princess Merida who is determined to make her own path in life. This Scottish-themed story is not your usual Disney princess story."

Biggest Sci-Fi Shocker:

Best Theatre Production in Seattle:
"Fiddler on the Roof"
Village Theatre
"As fun and as exciting it is to see a new Broadway musical, there is a reason why we go back to the classics again and again."
