Sign up to Help at the Rally for Hope 8

Eight years ago, the youth of Seattle formed the very first Rally for Hope. This month, they are doing it again across from the Westlake Mall in downtown Seattle.

“It’s our 8th annual ‘Rally for Hope!’”, states the event flyer. “We’re going to show Seattle how young people praise God!”

The Rally for Hope is a cross-cultural and collaborative effort of local youth workers to inspire, encourage and acknowledge the creative expression of hope in the youth. Come on out to enjoy some of the most talented and courageous youth in Seattle, be inspired by some of Seattle’s great spiritual leaders and be encouraged as you make plans to go back to school.

There are three major ways that you can become involved in this year’s Rally for Hope:

Participate with a performance. The ministry is looking for  local youth choirs, praise teams, praise dancers, Gospel rappers, theatrical groups, etc. If your group has what it takes, contact Rally for Hope.

Volunteer before the event. Over the years, it has become apparent that many of the people this group ministers to are at a point of crisis. If you can serve at the event, it would be greatly appreciated. Rally for Hope is looking for:
  • Prayer Team members
  • Food donations
  • Food Service Help
  • Care kits (toothbrushes, toothpaste, socks, wash cloths, Kleenex, Hand Sanitizer, soap, shampoo, snacks.)
  • Help posting posters and handing out flyers
  • Help offset production costs

Volunteer at the event. Help is needed for:
  • Set up
  • Tear down
  • Greeting
  • Stage assisting
  • Security
  • Distribute lunches and care kits
  • Praying
The Rally for Hope 8 will take place on Saturday, August 25 from 12:00 noon to 5:30 p.m. at Westlake Park (Across from the Westlake Mall) in Downtown Seattle. There is no cost to attend. To learn more or to volunteer to help, visit the website. (Originally posted on Examiner.com)
